Layla Olive, M.S., CCC-SLP
Layla is a Speech-Language Pathologist who holds an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certificate of clinical competence (CCC-SLP) and a Speech-Language Pathology California state license. Originally from Ohio, she received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and a Masters of Sciences degree in Communication Disorders at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Layla started Speech by the Beach in order to help kids and families in the South Bay and surrounding areas to progress in all aspects of communication. In addition to running Speech by the Beach, Layla works part time at a local elementary school with students who have various disabilities (speech sound disorders, language delays, stuttering, specific learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, Down’s syndrome, orofacial myofunctional deficits and social skills deficits, to name a few). Layla has lived and worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California and the Los Angeles area since 2010 and has provided therapy to infants through adults. She has experience evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a variety of speech-language disorders including, but not limited to articulation, phonological awareness, language development, autism spectrum disorder, and orofacial myofunctional therapy. Layla loves going to the beach, supporting Ohio State football (Go Buckeyes!), and traveling.
